Building the Education Revolution Projects - BER

"Building the Education Revolution (BER) is a $16.2 billion investment over three financial years2008/09, 2009/10, 2010/11 and a critical component in the Australian Government's Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan.

This investment will provide all eligible schools across Australia with world-class educational infrastructure that will meet the needs of our students to move into and compete in the 21st century.

This much needed boost into our schools will also help support jobs at both a local and national level through new construction and maintenance work which will commence as quickly as possible."

Our school is delighted to receive funding from the BER and would like to share the progress of our new Gym/Hall.

We are also in the process of converting our Activity room into classrooms to cater for the growing number of students. Both these projects come under the Primary Schools for the 21st Century key element.

We celebrated the many significant contributions that refugees make to our community in Refugee Week 2010.  Our New Arrivals families overcome incredible hardships to start a new life in Australia free from fear and persecution. Our community lives the school values of "fair go" and "generosity" through support for these young people.

Our refugee children shared stories about their lives in the camps of Thailand and Zimbabwe.  They have embraced living in Australia and used this time to thank the community and the school for their new lives.
